Hi, I’m Camara Randolph. My guess is you’ve landed on this page because you want to know more about me, my professional background and my ‘hidden agenda’ or what I call why I do the work that I do. 90,000 hours that’s why. That’s the number of hours the average person will work if they start working right out of college, work a typical 40 hour work week with vacations and continue working until the magic retirement age of 65. First I know many people, myself included who begin working before they graduated from college. In fact, I had to start working well before going to college to even make it to college. My guess is many of us also know the magic retirement age of 65 is an illusion and most people will work until they are no longer able to work. And lastly, when was the last time you just worked 40 hours a week? In reality the number of hours you and I will work is much higher than 90,000 hours in our lifetime. Wouldn’t you rather spend that time doing work that energizes you, work that you are actually good at, work that makes a difference? It’s possible! We are surrounded by people who are doing it already right?
I don’t know how many hours I have already logged but I can tell you it’s a decent size number. During and after completing my BS in Human Resources Management, I worked in health care, telecom, nonprofit administration, retail and in the hospitality industry. I’ve had an impact everywhere I’ve worked. I say that in a non-bragging way. It took me years to recognize the value I brought to every position which is one of the reasons I so value the opportunity to help others tap into the value they bring.
My mission is to help people find ways to experience greater joy and fulfillment in their work through coaching and strategizing which includes identifying and leveraging natural talents, determining how to engage talents in ways that lead to higher income, crafting carer action plans, etc.
My desire for you: Stop settling! Reconnect, re-engage with work and I promise you will emerge a stronger player in the career game.
